Tanya Cameron 'Living With' the Maxi-Cosi Streety Plus
My name is Tanya and I am 28. I live in Oxfordshire with my Fiancé John and my little bundle of joy Bella. John is a Personal Trainer to racing drivers so travels away a lot and I am a SAHM. In my spare time I run a blogging site with 3 other mummy friends (Monster Mummies). I also enjoy cooking, craft making, going to baby groups, days out and doing silly things to put a smile on Bella’s face! I am very excited to be testing the new Streety and will be taking it on lots of trips out.
Living With Review
It feels like Christmas with all the packaging I have over my floor!
I was so excited when I saw a delivery van pull up outside my house and then out popped a big box – the Maxi-Cosi Streety Plus had arrived! As soon as it got in the door I started to open it. I was surprised at how well packaged all the parts were and how many parts there were to fit.
I rarely use instructions as I like to think I know how to build stuff (unlike my other half) and usually make it up as I go along but this time I read the instructions. Within 30 minutes I was ready to go.
I had a quick push around the sitting room and I like how light it feels. The feature I am looking forward to trying the most is to have Bella facing me on some trips out as I like to check she is ok. The handles on the pushchair don’t adjust and as I am short they will take a bit of getting used to – but over all my first impressions are good.
I am looking forward to our first trip out and so is Bella by the looks of it!
First day out using the new pushchair and it's raining but it means I got to test the raincovers! I'm really impressed with how they fit the pushchair and they have little air vents on the side to get fresh air in which I think is a great feature!
The harness is really easy to get on and I like how it clips in - means no more catching my hand on the clip part. Bella fell asleep as soon as we got moving which shows she thinks it's comfortable even if i thought the seat didn't seem very padded.
Looking forward to our next trip out :)

I went for a nice walk to my parents - which is ALL up hill! I am pleased to report that although it was hard work for me, the pushchair was nice and light so it was easy to cope with.

Took the pushchair in the car today. Fitted nicely in the boot of my Vauxhall Astra with plenty of space for lots of shopping (to my other half's delight!). The pushchair is really easy to "pop up" and click into place which is ideal as I hate faffing around, I like to get up and go! The right hand side of the pushchair sometimes needs clicking into place but generally so far its all clicked into place as I pull it up.

We took the streety to Warwick Castle today. Handled very well going over gravel and over grassy areas. Really love the hood on the pushchair as I don't need to carry a parasol with us to shade Bella. She was hiding under the hood giggling at feet walking by!

Been out to the park today as it was super sunny. Bella was covered in sun cream and when I got home I noticed it was all over the pushchair! I am very pleased to report that with a quick wipe down the pushchair looks new again - phew!

Had a trip to toys r us today. Bella was asleep in the carseat so I popped up the pushchair and quickly strapped her in and she didn't even wake up, proving once again that it is a comfy seat! Good job too as I didn't want her to see her birthday pressies.
Took the Streety to town today. Was really unsure about the weather so took rain covers with me. Realised there is a zip at the back of the seat and the raincovers fit perfectly inside so more space in the basket for shopping - yay!

I took the streety to a Monster Mummies meet up in Wolverhampton. I had the Streety and a HUGE pushchair in my boot as I took a friend too. Was nice that the streety fitted in a tiny space. We had a lovely day and the Streety was talked about lots and compared to other pushchairs.

We had a lovely sunny day out by the canal and had a picnic in the park. The Streety handled very well over pebbles and grass - quite impressed!

Just as we were getting used to the sunshine it started to rain! Good job I had the raincovers with me. They are really easy to put on but Bella has started to kick the front of them as they steamed up. Think the humidity didn't help today.

Bella stayed with Nannie for a few days and she took her out with the streety. Feedback was good! Easy to push and put up...but she did twist the bar and the pushchair started to fold down with Bella still in it! oops! *note to self - tell people about that when they borrow pushchair!
We had lots of Birthday parties to go to this weekend so spent a lot of time travelling in the car. The car seat that comes with the Streety is great! Much more comfy than the seat that came with my other pushchair. Bella loves being in it and I feel better knowing that she is still rear facing at nearly 1 year old. Great value for money as you have a car seat that lasts ages and a pushchair!

First time on the bus today and I really struggled to get the Streety on to the bus. I'm not sure if there is a certain way to get up and down curbs with ease or if I am just weak!
September the 10th 2012
Took Bella to the park today and as it was a sunny day there were lots of parents there. I found myself comparing pushchairs and really wished the Streety came in purple!

1st Birthday for my little princess! We went on a nice walk with balloons attached the the Streety. The Streety and Bella got lots of comments which was nice :)

As Bella is getting heavier I am finding the Streety really difficult to get up curbs especially when I have shopping in the bottom. Not sure how long you would be able to use the Streety for if it gets harder and harder to move up simple curbs.

Bella was up super early today so we decided to walk Daddy to work. It was freezing but Bella was nice and warm in the Streety. One of the wheels has started to squeak so will try see if something is stuck before I next use it as it is annoying.
October the 7th 2012
Like me, I don't think the Streety likes the wet and cold! I say this as the wheel at the back left is still squeeking. But I am not letting that put me off of trying to get fit by going to a long walk every day.
October the 11th 2012
Ran out of milk so had to quickly pop to the shops before the rain caught us. I am still amazed at how easy the Streety is to pop up and go! I will definitely miss this feature.
October the 14th 2012
We went for a nice walk round Cuttslowe Park in Oxford today. The streety did well across the grass, pebbles and muddy parts and Bella stayed nice and warm.
October the 18th 2012
The fair came to town today so Bella and I went in the afternoon but she decided to have a nap! I really like how the hood still covers most of her when the pushcahir is in full recline position.
October the 21st 2012
I think Bella is just about ready for the next stage car seat. She is 13 months old and if I had the Streety from when she was born I would have been very pleased that it has lasted this long.
Had a busy week and not been out much with the streety. Took it out today and the heavier Bella gets and loaded with shoping, the harder it gets to go up curbs.
November the 4th 2012
Watched the fireworks tonight. It was cold but enjoyable. Bella fell asleep and the streety covered her up nicely - from the cozie toes to the big hood. She didn't even wake up during the loud bangs!

After a few weeks of not being well we haven't been out in the streety
for ages. So today we went to Stratford Garden Centre and had a lovely
time weaving in and out of all the Christmas displays. The streety
managed this with ease and Bella was nice and warm.
November the 25th 2012
It has been cold this weekend so it felt like the perfect time to introduce Bella to Santa for the first time.
We took the streety to Blenheim Palace and had a long walk over muddy puddles and rough terrain, it was hard work over gravel now Bella is heavier but the hood still amazes me and I love it!
Wow December already... I forgot Bella's advent calendar so had to whizz to the shops and swerve through the busy town today! oops - bad mummy!
December the 4th 2012
I can just tell what Bella is thinking in this picture... "Mum do we REALLY have to go to town again?!", Where as I'm thinking, aww look how cosey you look in the streety ;)
December the 11th 2012
Brr it's cold but we needed to head out today. The wind was quite cold so I kept the hood of the Streety pulled over Bella to stop it blowing in her face.
December the 29th 2012
We have been super busy traveling about over the Christmas period that
we have not had chance to use the Streety as all trips have been by car.
I did use it yesterday for a quick dash through the sales. I love how
big the basket is - mainly because I could fit all my bargains in it! I
did have to use WD40 on the wheels again as they were squeaking (not
surprising with my shopping and Bella in it)
Bella and I hope you all have a lovely new year :)
Final 6 month summary;
Having now used the Maxi-Cosi Streety for 6 months I can now see why it is a good idea to research pushchairs and read lots of reviews before buying a pushcahir you would own for a year+. I bought my first buggy purely based on the price and colour! Having used the Streety I can see why you pay extra for well known barnds. Here is my summary of what I thought:
Firstly, the streety has some fabulous features:
The hood to keep baby from the sun/rain - it covers baby nicely when they are sleeping
* Forward facing and rear facing - gives you reassurance when you first put baby in the main buggy as you can still see them.
* Storage - The Streety hold a lot of shopping space underneath.
* Easy to fold up - this is one of my favourite features! It is one of the smallest folding pushchairs I have found on the market to.
The only negatives I can find are:
* The bigger Bella got the harder the Streety became to get up simple curbs
* The wheels started to squeak a fair few times but WD40 sorted it out each time
* Although the streety was easy to recline, when I wanted to put Bella back upright it wasn't very easy to tell when it would lock back into place.
I would recommend the Maxi-Cosi Streety to any parent as you get the whole package, the pushchair, car seat, cosey toes, and raincovers for £300. The car seat lasted Bella until she was 14months and we used the front facing feature until she was 12 months (she then got fed up of looking at me!). Overall I give the Streety 4/5. It would be a 5/5 but the lack of getting up curbs when in a hurry is a bother.
