Josephine Meakin 'Living With' the Maxi-Cosi Streety Plus
Hi, my name is Jo I live in Derby with my partner Simon and our three young children Lewis 5 Abigail 3 and Owen who has just turned 2. I live a normal busy mums life, I'm lucky to be a stay at home mum and spend most days doing school runs, shopping and cleaning but in my spare time I like to read. I'm also totally addicted to facebook and pushchairs but pushchairs have been my main hobby the last 5 years and I have been lucky to own some fantastic pushchairs a long the way. As you can Imagine testing a pushchair for 6 months is like a dream come true for a pram-a-holic so very much looking forward to sharing what I think for the next few months.
Living With Review
My first impressions as I started to unpack the pushchair was value for money, I couldn't believe you get a very nice Maxi-Cosi car seat and thick quality footmuff as standard with the pushchair.
Once all unpacked it was very easy to pop together by popping on the front wheels and attaching the hood to the seat unit, talking about seat unit I love it that it can face both ways.
I had a good play with the the fold and it is fab all labeled on the pushchair with 3 simple steps, twist 1, press 2 the pull number 3 and the icing on the cake is it free stands which I love I wish all pushchairs did that.
Shortly after I unpacked I had to pick my oldest up from school, It was very easy to push although a little heavy getting up curbs and the seat must be comfy as my son soon fell asleep. The only thing I don't like so far is the raincover it is fiddly to put on and steams up straight away, it could do with a few extra breathing holes but over all I am really liking the Streety!
Just been on the school run Owen who is 2 still has lots of room in the seat!

So far with the streety my favorite feature is the fold! You can fold it with the seat on in forward facing but I like taking the seat off and putting it in my almost full pushchair cupboard and leaving the frame in my small hall! It's very compact so doesn't take much room!

I took the streety shopping today I love how big the basket is you can get loads in it. Owen also fell asleep in it again and used the bumper bar as a dummy, I'm so glad it's not made out of foam instead it's a nice and rubbery so easy to keep clean.

I love that the seat can parent face, it's also a nice big seat and the harness can be extended really long so won't be tight even with them thick winter coats! The only thing I'm not liking at the moment is how hard it is to get up curbs, you have to use your foot on the kick plate to get it a curb not great if your crossing a busy road!

I've just got back from the school run and thought I would tell you about the brakes on the streety plus I love the step on the red to put the brake on and step on the grey to take off, this means you can use the brake on matter of footwear including flip flops!

I took the streety on the school pick up today and for the first time in ages the Sun was out! I let Owen walk a bit to school, I love the swing away bumper bar makes getting Owen in and out so easy if can climb in himself so I don't have to lift him!

Been out in the horrible rain again but I've now learned how to put the rain cover on and it fits well but still steams up and Owen hates it but he's not keen on raincovers full stop.
July the 16th 2012
Owen fell asleep in the streety plus again on the school run so it must be a comfy seat.
July the 17th 2012
Today on the school run I almost got run over thanks to the streety as it's so heavy to get up curbs not great whilst trying to cross a busy main road!

I took the streety to town today on the bus, it was hard getting it on the bus as it's so heavy to tip up to get on the bus and it made me realise how wide it is I never noticed before a good point the basket is nice and big for shopping and Owen was comfy again!

I thought I would show you the fold size of the streety compared to my other pushchairs to give an idea of size! In this picture from left to right Quinny Zapp, Petite Star Zia, the Streety and then the Maclaren XT! Don't forget the streety is the only full size pushchair here...

Not been out much this week been spending some time in the garden whilst it's sunny, but took the streety to the park today a little hard pushing over grass but no harder then any other pushchair. The wheels are easy to lock!
Forgot to take pictures as was a little stressed taking three excited children on the train to go visit my sister! I struggled a bit getting the streety plus on the train as it is heavy to tip up to the train step, so on the way home I folded it before we got on (much easier although stressful as then I have 3 little kids running free) but I can't fault the comfort of the seat Owen loves it!
Daddy took the kids out today, so I made him tell me what he thinks of the Streety. He first informed me it was nice to use a pushchair that looked normal and doesn't look like a space buggy ( I think he is talking about my Stokke), he thinks it is really easy to use and again Owen fell asleep in the pushchair he also didn't find it to heavy to get up curbs. He also said it reminded him of the Loola we had and I will say I agree it is very much like the Loola!

Took the streety to asda today managed to get tonights dinner and 2 packs of nappies in the basket! My hands kept slipping on the handle as it was very warm today and nothing to really grip on with sweaty hands.
August the 15th 2012
I took the Streety out in the rain today and the raincover didn't steam up so really impressed as that was one of the points that bugged me, I can only think it's because it no longer creased up from the packaging!
Today I took use Streety Plus into town to shop, it managed ok. Town was busy and it was easy to push around although I do think you need two hands to push it as it doesn't control very well with one hand. I wish it had a cup holder though.

The streety was looking a bit grubby so I decided to clean it, the seat cover was so easy to take off and came up as good as new in the washing machine and again easy to put back on. I love easy to clean pushchairs as lets face it kids aren't known for being clean!

Owen today is insisting in sitting in the streety to watch peppa pig x x

Yesterday I took the streety plus for a walk to the park, for dinner then asda although there is lots of things I love about it there is one thing I just can't get past is how heavy it is to get up curbs!
August the 31st 2012
We took the streety plus into Westfield Derby today to get some school stuff, I love the nice big basket got lots of stuff in it although nothing I actually needed lol!
Owen really does love the comfy seat. Struggled on the bus as it was busy but I think I would with any pushchair today!
Back on school runs! This pushchair is fab for school runs as the basket is big so can hold all them bags x

Finally done the first week back at school and the streety is really made
for it! I don't have a car myself but I feel this is fab for chucking
in the boot of a car as the fold is so easy!
September the 12th 2012
Today it has been raining on and off so I thought I'd dig out the bundle bean, it's a great fit on the streety although the blue doesn't go with the red!
September the 13th 2012
It's got a bit cold here in derby so thought I'd give the footmuff a go! It is nice and thick and easy to fit my Owen is too big for it I can't even use it as a liner as it has a bit of head support built in but makes Owen uncomfortable but would be fantastic with a younger baby! But my buggysnuggle fits well.
September the 20th 2012
I've just bought a new buggysnuggle for the Streety a waterproof one to stop me fighting with the raincover as like most 2 year olds Owen hates them! I'm just waiting for the pushchair covers to dry as Owen has been sick in the pushchair! I'm so glad it's easy to clean!
September the 27th 2012
Was sad I couldn't fit the streety in the car for our trip away but we are back today and on the school run!
Been out in the rain today, Owen is going through the not wanting a raincover on stage but the great thing about the Streety is the hood can be pulled all the way down.
October the 5th 2012
Just been up to the village with the Streety plus, sadly the village is very old so pavements very narrow so found it fairly hard to get around as it is fairly wide! It was ok over the cobbles with wheels locked.
October the 12th 2012
Been shopping today! I really do love how big the basket is managed to get a big pizza, bottle of coke, 2 pint's of milk and 2 big children's winter coats in it with lots of room left.
October the 15th 2012
I love the hood on the Streety it comes right over for sunny days.
Walking to school today, the pushchair seemed really heavy today doesn't help it being a Monday morning! Owen is nearly outgrowing the pushchair his head is now at the top of the seat.
October the 21st 2012
I think Bella is just about ready for the next stage car seat. She is 13 months old and if I had the Streety from when she was born I would have been very pleased that it has lasted this long.
October the 25th 2012
I'm really not feeling the love at the moment it's just so heavy to push. My Owen is almost 2 and half so I'm sure this wouldn't be so bad with a younger child but I am really struggling at the moment with it, mostly it's the getting up curbs without getting run over! I feel bad saying negative things as it has so many great features.
I've not used the streety much this week I'll be honest it's getting
really hard to push and I don't really like using it! It has some
amazing features like a nice comfy seat, big basket and an amazing fold!
It's just so heavy to get up curbs and I have some fairly busy roads
near me that I need to cross quickly which is impossible with the

I've been to Liverpool today and left the kids with Simon, so got him to use the streety! It's been a few weeks since he last used it and Owen has shot up since then. Simon loves the streety has he feels it's manly enough for him.
November the 15th 2012
Took the streety plus to the doctors today!! I have poorly kids with tonsillitus!!! Owen fell asleep in the pushchair, I really do love the seat it's so comfy it has padded wings to stop them banging there head on the frame (not all pushchairs have these)!! I also love how easy it is to clean this pushchair!
November the 22nd 2012
I've been not a very good with reporting my thoughts on the streety as of late mainly as I can't cope with how heavy it is to push, so I thought I'd have a play pretending I have a small baby! The car seat is so easy to put on and take off the frame with just two buttons each side. The car seat itself is fab so easy to adjust and the same high standard as all Maxi-Cosi car seats, remember the car seat is included in the package.
November the 24th 2012
With the pushchair in parent facing mode laid back with the footmuff on the streety would be very comfy for a new born!
I'm not posting as much as I should about the Streety, as it's becoming more or less unusable it's so heavy to get up curbs! I hate saying such negative things as it does have some great features! I don't understand how it is so heavy to push because as a system it's self is not heavy to lift when folded!
December the 24th 2012
I've not used the Streety much for almost 3 weeks thanks to the flu hitting this house hard! But took it to the park today for jumping in muddy puddles Christmas eve fun as it's so easy to clean!
My 3 Pros-
- Fantastic fold, easy to do, compact and free standing
- Big roomy parent and world facing seat
- Big basket
- Very heavy to get up curbs
- No peep window in hood
- Footmuff to small for big toddlers
