Hannah Harwood 'Living With' the Maxi-Cosi Streety Plus
Hi, my name is Hannah, I am 27 and I am a pub manager for Wetherspoon's. I am married to my husband of 7 years Anthony who works as a technical trainer for Kwik Fit and we have 2 wonderful sons. Rhys has just turned 4 and is about to start school in September and is a bundle of energy and Ethan the new addition to our family who arrived on June 7th 2012. I am very pleased to have been chosen as a living with volunteer and look forward to sharing our experiences of the Maxi-Cosi Streety plus with you all.
Living With Review
Well first day out with my new Maxi-Cosi Streety and I must say my first feeling was amazement!
Both Anthony and I had played with the pushchair when it arrived on Monday and tried it in different positions, putting it up and folding it down etc but due to the good old English weather didn't venture anywhere yesterday.
So today to calm the hyper 4year old from being stuck in the house I took him to our local indoor play centre.
I was amazed the pushchair and all it's accessories fit in the boot of my old run around car (a Suzuki ignis) which as the photo shows has no boot space at all! Nothing fits in that boot - so now I don't have to sell our second car!
For ease of use I just used the pushchair with the car seat on it as we weren't going to be out for long, but makes a big difference to carrying a car seat everywhere. Ethan was very comfortable and didn't wake the whole time we were there.
Day 1 = very impressed!
July the 12th 2012
Took the streety plus for a small shopping trip into Hucknall today, to open Ethan his first bank account and pick up my bounty bag etc. Again for quickness i used the car seat on the base and it was very quick to put up and take down, very light and easy to manoeuvre, very big shopping basket = very impressed.

Today was lunch with the yummy mummies and the first time to show off my streety plus. Ethan was very comfortable in the pushchair laid flat facing me obviously. Let's just say there was lots of pushchair envy!
July the 13th 2012
Today was the day we took the Maxi-Cosi to take big brother for his visit to big boy school. Very quickly put pushchair together and managed to get the kids to school for 8.45am! Very impressed!
July the 20th 2012
Well another dismal day yesterday and the hubby had a very rare midweek day off so we decided to make the most of it and have lunch out and a treat for Rhys.
So we took the children to the cinema to ice age and Ethan slept the whole way through in his Maxi-Cosi car seat and then lunch at nando's next door as you can see from the photo below.
July the 23rd 2012
Well this weekend was a first for all of us. Rhys went to his first bowling party with a friend from nursery and we were all invited too.
Rhys has a fabulous time and must admit it is a place we have never thought to take him before and with a score of 96 I won't be playing against him anytime soon lol! but a great day was had by everyone. Ethan of course as comfortable as ever slept through everything!
July the 25th 2012
Well lovely day yesterday and with Rhys not at nursery it was time for a lovely picnic in Shipley park with my boys! Finally managed to just about fill the shopping basket although it took my very full yummy mummy changing bag, picnic blanket, Rhys's jake and the neverland pirates sports bag containing football, rugby ball, tennis set and frisbee!
July the 30th 2012
Not a good weekend this weekend. Had a very sicky Ethan this weekend whether it was the weather or what I don't know, but as he decided to projectile vomit over me and himself I have had to wash the car seat cover. Must say very very impressed. It comes off very easily and machine washed it at 40degrees and hung out on the line to dry. Managed to get the cover back on by myself and it looks like new! Best car seat I have ever had!
Today Rhys and I took Ethan and the pushchair for the dreaded vaccination visit to the doctors. Didn't go to badly and the pushchair walk on the way how sent Ethan to sleep. Rhys insisted on pushing this time as you can see!
August the 7th 2012
Today we took Rhys and Ethan to Wollaton hall with Rhys's friend from nursery to the superhero picnic with batman as that was where some of the new batman movie was filmed.
Rhys and his friend were even filmed and appeared on the regional news last night! - very proud mummy moment. Loving the basket on this pushchair we managed to get the picnic for 5 and blanket plus waterproofs and thief little football under it too!
Well first day back off holiday and what better excuse than no food to go to ikea for breakfast! Ethan of course slept through the whole thing, but mummy, daddy and Ethan enjoyed the whole outing. Now to stock up on food!
September the 3rd 2012
Well with daddy still off work ready to take Rhys to school on Wednesday, what better time to get all the niggling jobs done in the house! So a family trip to B&Q it was! Ethan showed about as much interest as Anthony did at getting these jobs done - but we will excuse him for now!
Now what can we get him to do tomorrow - he'll be so glad to go back to work on Thursday.
September the 5th 2012
Well today was Rhys's first day at school so an emotional day all round.
Well in the end turned out only to be for the parents!
Rhys walked in without a care in the world and Ethan as snug as a bug was of course care free as usual in his Maxi-Cosi streety!
September the 8th 2012
Woo hoo collected my dream car today from the garage and I am in love! The boys now get to travel in full leather luxury only problem - the Maxi-Cosi looks lost in my gigantic boot :-)
September the 14th 2012
Today we took a walk to the post office after the school run to post the invitations to Ethan's christening.
September the 15th 2012
Today we went to rufford abbey to look at it for a wedding venue for my sister who has just got engaged, then took Ethan and Rhys for a walk around the lake and to the park. Here is Ethan being pushed by his nana - who is a big fan of the pushchair because even she can put it up and take it down!!
September the 17th 2012
Enjoy a warm autumn morning on the school run and a little walk into town afterwards. Ethan keeping Rhys's angry birds water bottle safe!
September the 18th 2012
What a difference a day makes, not going very far today until it warms up! Ethan all wrapped up for the school run!
September the 26th 2012
Today we went shopping to meadow hall to find an outfit for Ethan's christening. Also as a mummy's job bought Ethan a very cute grandad had, and you have to admit he looks adorable!
September the 28th 2012
Today the fair was in town before next weeks big goose fair, so with it being small we decided to treat Rhys after making it onto the special smiley face board at school! Ethan as usual unphased by it all.
September the 29th 2012
As mum and dad are away, we are looking after their border terrier so here is Ethan all wrapped up for a walk over misk hills this morning. Don't know who was more tired, the dog / or me! Lol
Today was the usual swimming with Beth and poppy and then we went out for lunch. You can see them both in their car seats have a good old conversation with one another!
Then in the afternoon it was Rhys's first school disco but because he was under 5 I had to go and supervise him. So took Ethan in his pushchair and he loved watching the boys and girls running around and the music. Very good day!
October the 5th 2012
Today was Nana Elaine's birthday so we went for a walk to her house and had a little bbq to celebrate her birthday whilst we had a little glimmer of sunshine! Ethan is looking very grown up now in his Maxi-Cosi Streety and the footmuff has been a god send in this weather for him. I certainly don't have to worry about him getting cold as this keeps him very snug indeed!
October the 7th 2012
Well ethan is 4 months old today! and we went to lego land yesterday for the day as a treat for Rhys and stayed overnight in a premier inn in Slough, so here is ethan in his pushchair in the room and at the table at breakfast watching us all eat. Pushchair was amazing yesterday and for the journey as so compact for the car, very impressed!
October the 13th 2012
Today we went to the Robin Hood country show at Newark Showground. It started off a very cold day as you can probably tell from the thumper snow suit but did warm up later (just forgot the photos from the afternoon!) we saw lots of exciting things like jousting, bird displays, dog agility displays. Rhys got to have a go at driving a boat, a mini land rover and had a go at archery and even Anthony got involved and had a go at clay pigeon shooting. I meanwhile enjoyed the craft stalls and the crepe stand lol! Diet is going well ;-)
October the 16th 2012
Today we took Ethan to see mummies friend Zoe before she went for her 12 week scan so there will soon be another baby arriving :-)
We took Zoe's little girl to a local indoor play centre before all the big kids broke up for half term and she loved it and we enjoyed coffee and cake!
Ethan just enjoyed eating his Lamaze dog as normal!
October the 18th 2012
Today Ethan and I went went to see our friends Beth and Poppy and went swimming for mummies and babies at the local leisure centre which both babies loved!
Then mummies enjoyed lunch in peace at frankie and bennys while our very tired little ones slept!
October the 19th 2012
Today was Rhys's last day before he broke up for half term so school had an end of term disco.
Rhys was busy busting his moves and Ethan sat in his pushchair watching all 90 children running riot on excitement and E numbers lol!
October the 21st 2012
Today was my cousins little girls christening, so we all went to church to see her officially become Paige Katrina Harwood. Ethan sat brilliantly throughout the service in his pushchair looking round at all the stained glass windows and candles, and then slept through the meal afterwards in his car seat! Obviously far too much excitement for this little one, hopefully he is more enthusiastic next weekend at his own christening!
October the 31st 2012
Just had to share my sons wild hair with you! Haven't particularly done anything today just waiting for all the bugs to disappear so we have a healthy household again, but this was Ethan in his car seat when we went to collect Rhys from school in the afternoon! Think someone is feeling better!!
November the 2nd 2012
Today we went for a family meal at our local wetherspoons for Anthony's step brothers 18th Birthday before he went off into town to celebrate with his friends. We all met at 6pm and had a lovely meal altogether and as per usual Ethan lasted until normal bedtime of 6.30pm and was then fast asleep throughout!
November the 9th 2012
Tonight was my sisters engagement party so after a busy day of preparing food for everyone and decorating the hall came the time to party!
Ethan lasted until 8pm when it was pyjama and bed time. So up went the pushchair and there he slept all night while the party was in full swing without waking once!
He must have been very comfortable ;-)
November the 11th 2012
Today we took Rhys to the remembrance service at the cenotaph and to watch the parade.
Ethan was wrapped up all cosy and neither child made a noise during the silence (miracle!) Rhys was really interested in it all and asked lots of questions.
Here's Ethan wrapped up ready to go in titchfield park which is where our cenotaph is.
November the 25th 2012
Today we went to chatsworth craft and Christmas market. Now I feel Christmas is really on the way. I managed to get some Christmas cake and some presents too and the boys loved the lights. As you can see Ethan looked snug in his pushchair and Rhys loved his chocolate lollipop! We then kicking in the leaves and collected some pine cones and conkers from the estate for Rhys to take to school on Monday.
Had to take Ethan to Rhys's Taekwon-do lesson tonight as Anthony was away teaching in Scotland. So all wrapped up in his pyjamas ready for bed, Ethan loved watching all the boys and girls running around and learning there Taekwon-do moves. Rhys is busy preparing for his first belt exam so was very well behaved all evening and did lots of practicing.
December the 10th 2012
Today we went to ikea to meet Hannah from work for some good old fashioned meatballs and a good gossip catching up with everything that's happening in the world of wetherspoons for Christmas! Was actually surprised how quiet it was but really enjoyed the meatballs as a very nice treat, even had to have a piece of cake.
December the 12th 2012
We met mum today for a catch up and lunch as she has just returned from 3 weeks working away in Australia so she was very very cold yesterday. Ethan was his usually charming self but mum couldn't believe the change in him in the past 3 weeks. He sat lovely in his pushchair for his lunch as they only had the little highchairs and he isn't completely stable sitting yet, and then amused himself chewing his various toys. We will be glad when these two top teeth have come through too.
December the 13th 2012
Today we treated Rhys to frankie and bennys for tea after doing a fantastic job in his school play. Ethan was kept very amused by the balloon given to him and tied to his pushchair and we were able to eat a whole meal in peace - who knew it was as easy as a balloon!!
December the 14th 2012
Today we got to see the coca cola lorry when it came to Tesco just down
the road from us, so we started in Starbucks to warm us up for the
queues outside and then Rhys loved seeing the lorry and it really feels
like Christmas is beginning!
December the 15th 2012
Today we went to Rufford Abbey for a walk around the lake, enjoy the Christmas market and traditional fair, to feed the ducks and to see the aurora Christmas lights at dusk.
Mum and I took bangers the dog and the kids for the afternoon and it was absolutely lovely. Both children loved the different things to see and the fresh air must have done them good as they were both asleep by 5.30pm!
3 pros for the Maxi-Cosi Streety
* One handed open and close mechanism. So easy to use and very good when trying to control a 4 year old and put it up quickly.
* Compactness of the pushchair when folded. It is so small it would go in any car but is so stable when up.
* Versatility of the pushchair. Parent facing / forward facing so easy to change. Reclines in 3 positions in both directions.
* As much as the easy folding is a very big pro, we had a incident where when helping me push my 4 year old twisted the handle and pushchair started to fold up (obviously wouldn't completely fold due to seat unit) but once he found it he was drawn to the twisty handle like a magnet! If there was maybe a little button you had to push and twist at the same time to collapse it, you couldn't the accidentally twist the handle.
* One handle height. This was fine for me but my husband is 5' 11" and he found it very little to push.
* - Can't actually think of a 3rd!!
My personal rating would be 4 out of 5 for the pushchair. It is brilliantly priced for what you get and I love mine, but it is just the two points surrounding the handle that stops me from giving it a 5 out of 5.
