Caron Smith 'Living With' the Maxi-Cosi Streety Plus
My name is Caron (22) and I am one very proud mum to a little boy Ethan who is 16 months old. I am currently a full time stay at home mum and always on the go, out and about walking into town or just going out for a walk around our estate, as we dont drive we walk everywhere and sometimes use public transport. I love to bake and spend lots of time with family, although its very rare as i moved many miles away from my relatives. As it is just me and my partner (David) we try our best to give our son the best of everything.
Living With Review
I was so excited when I saw the delivery man with my new pushchair!! Fortunately my little lad was still in bed sleeping when it arrived so I was able to assemble it without having an inquisitive 16 month old running around with bits I would need!!
When I opened the box everything was so neatly and securely packed, it took a while just to get everything out of the box.
What was in the box?
- Pushchair Chassis
- Forward and parent facing seat unit
- Two front wheels
- Bumper bar
- Car Seat
The chassis and seat unit was even tied nicely in a bow lol!
It was all so easy to assemble, the two front wheels clipped to the frame and the seat also clipped into the frame, by placing one side over the relevant slots then stretching the other side. The hood is lovely and big so when we do finally get some sunshine, it will stay out of Ethan's eyes.
I love how the Streety folds (the seat unit must be in the forward facing position to fold), twist the handle, press down a button on the frame and pull up a bar at the rear and there it folds so compactly it would fit in the smallest of spaces and can be folded one handed if on public transport whilst holding baby. Although the folding is simple, unfolding seems to be a different matter; you will need two hands and some strength to push down on the foot lever as it seems quite stiff and takes some pulling to get the frame to click back into place.
Unfortunately it has been raining quite a lot, so the raincover would most certainly be needed. It covers the pushchair nicely, keeping Ethan lovely and dry.
Inserting the footmuff was quite tricky, pushing the straps through the slots was a bit fiddly, but was soon complete.
Ethan seemed to love it in his new 'ride' and as I have the seat in the parent facing mode, he enjoyed pulling faces and liked that he could still see me. Ethan soon got settled and very comfortable and was soon snoring and had a very good long nap while we walked around town, the ride was very smooth on all terrains, never once disturbed his sleep.
Taking Ethan for a few weeks to nanas, which gave us the opportunity to fold the pushchair and put into the boot. We managed to fit the Streety in nicely along side the travel cot, a suitcase and 2 holdalls, very good I think for the ford focus' smallish boot.

Took Ethan out in the streety facing the world today, bless him he kept turning around smiling at me as if he was checking I was still there.
I feel a bit dwarfed (even at 5ft 7) next to the Streety as the handle is long, if it was ajustable it would be perfect.
I love the large basket as it held all my mums daily groceries, and the rain cover, I took out just in case.

We have some sun!!! Which gave us a great opportunity to use the lovely large sun conopy. It covered Ethan well and kept him shaded from the sun.

While out shopping with the streety someone stopped and said how nice it looks and asked if its easy to push and fold. To which I replied that its lovely and light to push and it folds so quick and easy, I think we was stood around talking about it for some time as Ethan started to get a bit bored.
I'm really enjoying having this pushchair and my little lad loves to be out and about in it.

The Maxi Cosi Streety goes to the beach!
As the weather is lovely and sunny my sister and I took Ethan to the beach, suprisingly the streety strolled over the wet sand with ease whilst other mums and dads pulled their buggys backwards.
I love how big the sun canopy is, it covered Ethan nicely and kept him cool and shaded all day.

If you went into Sandringham woods today.... U would have seen my sister and I lost and struggling!!
So we went for a walk into the woods, to which the Streety didn't like as it didn't cope with tree roots very well as the front wheels kept catching even the smallest of roots, and then we got lost as we tried to go back.....
But we eventually found our way out and walked to the Sandringham flower show, it was a lovely day.
Went on a shopping spree with the MC Streety, it handled all the shopping fantastic with the large basket underneath and the two carrier bag hooks on the handle. This pushchair is great for everything.. I'm falling in love with it!

I like how easy it is to apply the brakes on the Streety, press the red foot lever down to put brakes on and press the grey foot lever down to take them off. Great for warm days when flip flops are worn.

Ethan has decided he likes to sit forward further than the seat goes, which is fine as the harness easily adjusts.

Ethan now looks too long in the parent facing mode, so two quick clicks and flip the seat round its now in forward facing mode. Although the hood is a great size I think maybe there should be a little window in it so parents can see what baby is doing when in forward facing mode.

I wouldn't recommend the MC Streety for crossing busy roads, I almost got ran over when trying to get the pushchair up the curb. I have to press my foot down on the black foot lever at the back to get the front of it to lift up.

We took Ethan to Twycross zoo, we had such a great time even in the the drizzly rain.
I bought Ethan some reins so he could walk around and look at the animals, I took the MC Streety along with us too for nap time and when Ethan ate lunch. Without a heavy 18 month old in the pushchair, it was a dream to push around. I had no problem pushing it on gravel and grass and it swerved in and out of crowds with ease.
Come nap time Ethan went out like a light, he must find the Streety very comfortable.
I don't think I would have this pushchair up until Ethan is 3years as it already feels quite heavy and he's an average 18month old. It is especially heavy when going up hill, which when I'm walking home from town I can't avoid.

The bumper bar on the Streety is great for hanging a blanket over to keep Ethan's legs warm as you can see from the picture.

As the days are getting cooler I've put the footmuff back on (easier than the first time) and Ethan is loving being warm and snug.

The seat unit had started to look a bit grubby so I took it off and put it in the washer.. It was so quick and easy to take off the unit frame and was just as easy to put back on. It looks like new again and should stay that way as I have put the footmuff back on.
I hate to say something horrible about this pushchair as I do think its great, just not for me with Ethan being almost two it seems heavier everyday. I think it would be a great pushchair for a family with a newborn especially as it easily adapts with the included car seat and the available carrycots.
From the moment I assembled the Streety together I liked how wide the seat was and loved the fact that it could be in either forward or parent facing. The breaking system was brilliant and easy to use as you step on the red peddle to put the break on and the grey peddle to take it off.
Unfortunately the Streety wasn't for me as I found it too heavy and
awkward to push, as my son is almost two. I think it would be perfect
for a family with a newborn as the included carseat can be used by
clipping it onto the frame or by using a carrycot.
Lovely large basket
Quick and easy fold
Nice big sun hood
Awkward to bump up curbs
Fiddly rain cover
I would score the Maxi-Cosi Streety Plus 4 out of 5 as there are more good things than bad.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to test this product for you, I hope to test more in the near future.
